Reedgate Lane

REEDGATE LANE:  Briefly private airfield, later airstrip

Note: In my way of defining locations, if a site has two or more runways it is an airfield.

Period of operation: Unknown ?. Nothing here in 2010.

Runways:  2017 =   14/32   500   grass         16/34   400   grass

                 2019 =  14/32   500   grass

NOTES: In February 2022 I was kindly contacted by 'captainrob34' who pointed out this location. At this time sixteen years old and hoping to gain a career in aviation.

My aircraft spotting skills have fallen away over the years - so much better fifty years ago! But of course, in those days we had far less choice of types to look at. Anyway, for what it is worth, the aircraft in the detail picture above, looks to me like a Bücher. Either a Bü133 Jungmann, (most probably?), or perhaps a Bü133 Jungmeister?

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome. Pictures of course are much appreciated.

THE ANSWER
In May 2022 Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', kindly provided the answer. It is in fact a CASA 1-131E, G-BZJV, a Spanish built version of the Jungmann. A bit more delving revealed it had the serial E3B-367 when serving in the Ejército del Aire (EdA), or Spanish Air Force which was established in 1939.
