Operated by: Wing Commander K ‘Ken’ H. Wallis

Location: In Reymerston, 1nm S of B1135 at Garvestone, 2.5nm E of SHIPDHAM

Period of operation: 1959 (possibly earlier?) to –

Runways:   06/24   315   grass            11/29   300   grass

NOTES: Home to the famous ‘Winco’ Ken Wallis private collection of autogyros. Plus, he designed, developed and built these types here and he is without doubt the one person who almost single handed placed the small modern and affordable versions of this type of aircraft on the world stage.

Especially when one of his creations, 'Little Nellie' was featured in the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice.

Although in principle incredibly safe in practise, these machines do have a poor safety record.

Wing Commander Ken Wallis (1916-2013) set 34 World Records between 1968 and 2002 and was still flying here a year before his death. The hangar/museum can be seen in the pictures above, just NE of the main house. He used to taxy from here to his airfield, (a video can be found on-line), but I cannot discover what happened to this collection after he died. Except for a rumour that they are now in store at OLD WARDEN/SHUTTLEWORTH.

The house was up for auction in 2019.
