Note: This picture was obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: Mr David Price

Location: Roughly 1nm NE of Rhos-hill village on the A478, and about 3.5nm SSE of Cardigan

Period of operation: 1980s to –

Runway: Max in 2012: 07/25   728   grass     (30 acre site)

NOTES: It appears that the Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser G-BCAZ and DH82A Tiger Moth G-ANJK were based here in 2012 at least.

The Thruster TST Mk.1 G-MTPY had also been using this site for about four years prior to 2013 but it crashed on take-off in June 2013 – AAIB report EW/G2013/06/06.

This report spells the site as “Rhosgilwen Mansion” and I have often encountered similar issues over the years. This could of course easily arise from the people submitting the report, and using either the English or Welsh spelling?
