Unlike so many airfields in this region very little evidence seems to remain. However, given a map of the WW2 airfield, it can still be seen where the major features were, in part a least.

My Uncle JAMES ISAAC DRAKE served in the RCAF during WWII. (R/52121) He was killed in February 26 1943, when his Halifax V9988 crashed on takeoff, killing three of the crew and injuring two others. The aircraft was unable to gain altitude upon takeoff and crashed into trees at Manor Farm, Kelfield. Sgt. Drake was born in Caradoc Township, Middlesex County, Ontario Canada, and enlisted in the service in 1939.
