River Crouch

Note: This map only shows my guesstimation of where this activity took place, and this is heavily influenced by the previous existence of earlier flying activity in this area. This said, the map serves well enough to provide a position within the UK.

RIVER CROUCH: Temporary experimental flying site from water

Location: The River Crouch extends east into a slim type of estuary from South Woodham Ferrers for roughly 15nm

NOTES: In 1914 for some reason the Talbot waterplane appears to have made an arrival on the River Crouch, presumably transported by road. But from where? It does however seem it really didn’t have enough power, (or lift), and perhaps a number of

other reasons, it failed to get airborne. Or, does somebody know different?
