Robertson Park

Note: This map only shows where I think this site might be located. There is a lot of information available about the giant William Beardmore company, who had more than one factory in this area, and some of it mentions ROBERTSON PARK being used. However, to date (early 2017) I can find nothing conclusive regarding its exact location. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.

ROBERTSON PARK: Private airfield

Operated by: The William Beardmore Company

Location: Adjacent to the Dalmuir works perhaps? (See seperate listing for WW2 flying boat construction), but used by land-planes.

Period of operation: During WW1 only?

NOTES: It seems that many aircraft produced by the William Beadmore Company where first assembled at the Dalmuir factory and flown out of the adjacent ROBERTSON PARK to the developing airfield at NEWMAINS FARM on the other side of the River Clyde. NEWMAINS FARM was soon to become known as MOORPARK, (in 1916?), and later part of RENFREW airport.
