Royal United Hospital

ROYAL UNITED HOSPITAL:  Helicopter landing area

Note:  This picture was obtained from Google Earth ©

Location: On the Lansdown Cricket Ground, just S of the hospital. Roughly 1nm NW of Bath city centre

Period of operation:  From the 1990s (?) to -

NOTES: I have Mr Tim Hill to thank for this, who has become my 'guru' for Bath. He has been involved with cricket in the region and has seen the Air Ambulance landing here. When an Air Ambulance flight is expected, a red light flashes on the hospital. If a match is in play this gives enough warning for players to vacate the area, remove the bails etc. The cricket club rules allow a dispensation to be logged for the time the Air Ambulance interupts play.
