Note: These pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by:  Mr Tom Harris

Location: Just W of the B488, about 1.5nm SSW of Leighton Buzzard town centre

Period of operation:   2000s only?

Runway: 18/36   580   grass

NOTES:  Base (2018 at least) for the de Havilland Canada DHC.2 Beaver Mk.1 G-EVMK. This example, fabulously restored, visited the LAA Rally at SYWELL in 2018.

I could of course be entirely mistaken, but I do think that this Beaver is the only privately owned and airworthy example in the UK. Or was in 2018.

It's just a guess, but I assume the 'Sears Crossing' name comes from the bridge over the nearby Grand Union Canal.

Looking at Google Earth © pictures, whose dating system is highly questionable, it does appear that the 'hangar', (if that is what it is?), was in place in 2009. Before the airstrip was laid out. If it is a hangar, what kinds of aircraft are kept there?

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome.

sears crossing is the name of the bridge over the road where the gt train robbery took place.
