Note:  The first two pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The local view and area view are from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location:  Just S of Haighton Green, about 1nm W of Grimsargh village on the B6243. Roughly 3nm NNE of Preston city centre

Period of operation:  Unknown?  Certainly from 2018

NOTES:  As a general rule no attempt is being made to try and record private helicopter landing sites. There are far too many. But, plainly some examples should be recorded, and, as this site shows some sort of commercial activity, so much the better. More so because I have found a couple of pictures with a helicopter planted on the location!

I think this is a Robinson R22 Beta. If this is correct it's an age thing because I still consider it to be a 'modern' aircraft. Compared with a pre-WW1 Blériot, or even a DH82 Tiger Moth, it certainly is. But, I was astonished to find that the type first flew in 1975, entering production in 1979. Since then over 4,600 examples have been built.
