SHINING TOR: Gliding Site (Later hang-gliding and paragliding site)

Location: On Derbyshire/Cheshire border, 4.5nm E of Macclesfield
Period of operation: 1990s & 2000s only? (Probably much longer?)
NOTES: In 2004 it appears that Lord Derby had negotiated an agreement with the PSA that hang-gliding and paragliders could continue to use this site. No mention of gliding activities.
The map gives only an approximate position within the UK. If anybody can provide a more exact location and more information about this site it will be very welcome.
