NOTES: The Berkshire Aviation Company were in many ways pioneers in taking air displays with joy-rides to where people lived. Other operators in those days tended to favour much more popular venues such as seaside resorts. Often they would position just one aeroplane, sometimes two, at venues such as this, which accounts for them staying several days in order to meet demand.
Their favoured type was the Avro 504, typically the 504K and 504N variants, which had been converted by Avro to accommodate two passengers in the rear cockpit. Later of course, from the early 1930s, the major 'Flying Circus' operators would arrive with a fleet of a dozen or so aircraft, including an airliner or two, and stay for just one day - two at most.
