St Marys Hospital
St MARY'S HOSPITAL: Private helipad
Note: Both these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©
Location: Just E of the A3020, and just N of Newport town centre
Period of operation: From 2013 to -
NOTES: It appears that in the first four years of operation this helipad had 575 landings by helicopters on emergency operations.
Yet another example of the woefully belated acceptance by senior NHS managers, that having helipads very near to A&E units at major hospitals can make a great deal of difference to patients surviving.
But what we need to fully understand is that so very often, the most senior managers in the NHS have no interest whatsover in the care of patients. They really could not care less, such matters are way below their levels of concern. Something coming to light time and time again in recent years.
The politicians keep banging on about how great the NHS is, obviously having no idea about the realities being exposed. I am very lucky, living in west London, and enjoying a first class service in most respects - as a patient. Even so, a few enquiries have revealed a total disconnect between the staff and senior management, which is a scandal needing to be fully exposed.
