Note:  All four of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location: Rougly 1.5nm WNW of St Mellion, which is on the A388 roughly 4nm NNW of Saltash town centre

Period of operation: ?

Runway: 15/33   440   grass

Note: One report states 470 metres but a look at Google Earth seems to show that this length of runway is unlikely. This said, in 2001, see picture above, it seems the runway was 445 metres long. Later reduced around 2018 to 400 metres.

NOTES: The initial info source for this airstrip was the AAIB report EW/G2011/04/01.

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome. Plus of course, pictures are much appreciated.

Im a local to the area, although i had no idea it even had an airstrip, I only noticed when trying to fly around my local area on the new microsoft flight simulator believe it or not! When i saw it i had to look up info and this page came up. @Josie Clark above, i know the comment is a couple years old now but if you see this, what would you like to know about the area? I grew up in a village nesr st mellion and have lived around here all my life.

Hi All, I Can Confirm this is still an Active Airstrip with 2 Piper Cub's (G-BHXY) and (G-YCUB) Being based there. The Owner of these two Aircraft is Fred Rogers of Callington. I am not sure if he is the strip owner though? Not sure if anyone knows? Like Andy, I live a couple of Minutes away from St Mellion and any more information I can find out about this strip I will post on here. Matt
