Stonecot Hill

STONECOT HILL: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s 1935 No.1 Tour of the UK

Location: The venue address was Stonecott Hill, London Road, Sutton. Today maps show Stonecot Hill (without the second 't') as being a third of a mile section of the A24 London Road 1.5nm NNW of Sutton town centre. Could the venue have been what is now King George’s Field just north of the A24?

Period of operation: 25th September 1935
