Operated by:
1965:  West of Scotland Aero Club

Location: 1nm N of A71, 1 to 1.5nm W of Strathaven

Period of operation: 1960s to -

Runway:
1965:  10/28   710x91   grass
(There is a note that this will be extended to 914 metres)

1990/2000: 10/28   730x90   grass

2007: 09/27   535x90   grass

Note: After circa 2011 it appears two other runways were added:   16/34   160   grass            06/24   225   grass

NOTES: Is this the widest grass runway in Scotland? It appears that earlier in the history of this site originally formed by the Scottish Flying Club, (possibly before the 1970s?), the Universities Gliding Club, Clydesdale Flying Club and West of Scotland Flying Club were based here. By 2007 also used by microlight types.

And clearly, looking at the Google Earth pictures, other G.A, types too.

Also, just to the north, is that a model flying site?
