The first picture was obtained from Google Earth ©. The local area and area views are from my Google Earth © derived database.

Operated by:  Mrs M R and Mr D W Grace

Location:  Just E of Goran High Lanes, about 1.5nm SW of Mevagissy town centre and roughly 6nm SSW of St Austell town centre

Period of operation:  Presumably 1983 until 2001?

Runway:  06/24   450   grass

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location.

It is such a shame that Google Earth pictures only go back to around c.2000. There does not appear to be any evidence in the 2001 picture above of a hangar, so, presumably the Piper PA-20-135 Pacer, G-PAXX (ex N135XX), was based elsewhere? This was registered to Mr and Mrs Grace at this address from 20.05.83 until 03.04.2001.

There is of course the possibility that, having sold G-PAXX, the hangar, (if there was one), was quickly dismantled. The farming community are always on the look out for suitable, and suitably priced, storage sheds. And indeed, most of the existing WW1 hangars are used by farmers for storage.
