SUTTON COLDFIELD: Model flying site and potential gliding site

Location:  Sutton Park

Period of operation: 13th November 1910
 

NOTES: About 3000 spectators turned up to see the models fly and Mr J H Else arrived with a full size glider - but he failed to become airborne.



 

SUTTON COLDFIELD: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Berkshire Aviation Company
 

Location: Tamworth Road, Sutton Coldfield

Period of operation: 26th November 1922  (They probably stayed here for several days)
 

NOTES:  An early example of a ‘Flying circus’ venue which became very popular in the 1930s.
