NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out the location for this strip. I had it listed but had no idea where it was.

It has been reported that a licensed heliport existed here, but the pictures above show no evidence of it still operating after the early 2000s.

One aspect of this site is that much of the remains of the Pan Am Flight 103, a Boeing 747-121, (N739PA), that crashed at Lockerbie on the 21st December 1988 are stored here. The small sections of the forward port side of the fuselage where the bomb exploded, have been meticously re-assembled in the AAIB facility at FARNBOROUGH. I have seen it, and it is a true testimony, to how determined, patient and diligent, accident investigators are.

Graham Frost also informs us that the Auster AOP.9 G-AVXY was seen here - and presumably based here? It was registered to Mr Roger Windley, at this address, from 20.12.77 until 04.03.81.
