A SHORT GALLERY
The advert was published in the Harrow Observer on the 1st August 1913.
NOTES: It is important to remember that nearly all the basic principals of how a fixed wing aeroplane can be made to fly was founded on experiments with models. Indeed, going back to Sir George Cayley in the 19th century. The main emphasis in the early days being to design a type which had inherent stability. In other words, developing a design which, if disturbed in the air, would revert to straight and level flight.
Perhaps then ironic that modern fighter types are designed to be so unstable that it needs a fly-by-wire system to control them.
