The Forte Post House Hotel, Washington

THE FORTE POST HOUSE HOTEL: Private helipad

Location: Alongside A1(M), in/near Emerson, 4nm WSW of Nissan factory, 6nm S of Newcastle-upon-Tyne city centre

Landing area: Grass area   15x15m  between hotel and motorway

NOTES: The information given in one flight guide published in 2000 gives a good indication of what is involved in some helicopter operations in recent years. It says that liability for damage to the hotel buildings or grounds rests with the pilot - and that insurance cover for £25 million is required! And, that was imposed in 1995.

This site is (in 2016 at least) it appears, the Holiday Inn Washington.
