The Vale Chesham

THE VALE:  Private airstrip

Note: This picture was obtained from Google Earth ©

Location: In The Vale, W of Vale Road, just NW of the Black Horse Inn, roughly 1.5nm N of Chesham town centre

Period of operation:  2000s only?

Runway:   13/31   360   grass

NOTES: In July 2017 I was kindly contacted by Russell Jarvis who provided a position of an airstrip near Chesham. This may well be the airstrip mentioned in my listing: 'CHESHAM FLYING SITES'. If so, it might well have been, or perhaps still is, the base for the Cosmik Aviation EVO 97 Eurostar G-MPAT.

Hello UK airfields. I am the owner of the strip in Chesham Vale. It is 33/15 and 405m but with a 15m obstacle at both ends. It has been in use for the twenty years that we have lived in the Vale and I have flown flexing microlights, Murphy Renegade Spirits and now my EV97 Eurostar from here over that time. We most recently had a Piper Super Cub in but it’s an awkward approach so is STOL only. The Black Horse Pub is now under private ownership and is very good but PPR is important because I often have sheep grazing (or currently a daughter learning to drive) on the field. Patrick Dale

Reply from Dick Flute:
Hi Patrick, Many thanks indeed. So nice to see yet another strip operator happy to provide information - much appreciated. Best regards, Dick
