THORVERTON: Military airstrip

Military user: US First Army ‘V’ Corps 406th Field Artillery Group, 953^rd Field Artillery Battalion

Location: 5nm N of Exeter city centre

Period of operation: 1944/5 only?

NOTES: It appears that two Piper L-4 Grasshoppers were based here. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
