Note:  Both of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location:  E of the A22 and just E of Caterham town centre

Period of operation:  ?   (2005 certainly)

Runway:  Roughly 16/34   640   grass

NOTES:  As can be seen from the two pictures above, the 'runway' orientation is taken from a line down the centre of the field, which is some 120 metres wide.

As the aircraft appears to be a Piper Cub, given a reasonable wind strength, landings could be made on headings ranging from roughly 18/36 to 13/31.

Also, if I am correct about the aircraft type, it is not a type that can be left outside except for short periods. Looking at Google Earth images there does appear to be what might be a small hangar in the top right-hand corner from about 2006 to 2012. If large enough to house an aircraft like a Piper Cub, could this be a clue to a possible period when an aircraft was based here?

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
