Torquay Go-Kart circuit helipad

TORQUAY: Helipad within a Go-Kart circuit

Operated by: 2000: Commercial Go-Karts Ltd

Location: 400 yards SE of Churston railway station, midway on Paignton to Brixham main road. The 'Google map' for this site is incorrect, as is quite often the case. My map, which can be clearly seen on Google Earth, is the correct site.

Landing area: Large grass area in the centre of the Go-Kart circuit, with an 'H' displayed.

NOTES: These people really did / do want helicopters to visit. Staff were available from Easter to September, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m and free landings at pilots own risk. Plus, nightstops were permitted.

And, they had MOGAS available. But, correct me if I am wrong, I cannot think of any helicopter that is cleared to operate on MOGAS. Some microlights and light aircraft are of course.

Comment in 2016: Is this site still available? I would be very interested to know how many helicpoters, and of which types, have visited this helipad. Could anybody please be kind enough to provide information?

We'd love to hear from you, so please scroll down to leave a comment!
