Truro flying sites
Note: This map gives the location for TRURO airfield, as listed in Pooleys Flight Guide. The location provided by 'Google maps' is totally inaccurate, way off the mark. But, I suppose, it might well be the location for the private airstrip also listed in this locality? Advice on this will be most welcome.

Note: Both of these pictures, taken by Mr Edward Hicks, have been scanned from the 1996 February/March edition of Popular Flying magazine. The caption for the second B&W picture was: "Visitors to Truro Airfield can taxi right up to Phil's house. Usually the kettle is on."
A BRIEF VISIT IN APRIL 2023
When visiting a very good friend who lives nearby, I asked if we could have a look at this location. The first impression, seeing the signs and a locked gate, seemed to indicate that the airfield was closed. By sheer good luck, a few minutes later, we met the airfield owner. Then learnt the airfield was not only very much a going concern but development plans were in place to make this destination a very attractive place to visit. With a small 'village' on site for visiting pilots.
He also invited us to have a look at the hangar.
Note: The Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk G-BPES, (ex N25728), had been recently aquired.
MORE NOTES: It now appears that the Mooney M20A, G-ARWY (ex N1079B), which was registered to Mr Phil Irish from 15.04.81 until 09.02.82 when it was declared PWFU (Permanently Withdrawn From Use), was not scrapped. Being instead taken apart and stored in a nearby church/chapel.
