Note: Needless to say this map probably only gives a rough position within the UK. Any advice on this will be most welcome.

TURBARY COMMON: Military airstrip

Operated by: USAAF Piper L-4s and RAF Austers according to one account. I suppose the RAF Austers were engaged in Army co-operation duties?

Location: In/near Wallisdown adjacent to Turbary Park Avenue

Period of operation: Presumably during the pre D-Day build-up period…..1944 only?
