Note: This map only shows the position of Great Staughton village within the UK. If anybody can kindly provide advice regarding a more exact location for this airstrip, this will be most welcome.

TURKEY FARM: Private airstrip

Operated by: A J Spiller (Gt Staughton) Ltd?

Location: W of A45, (now B645), in/near Great Staughton, 4.5nm NW of St Neots

Period of operation: 1970 & 1980s only?

NOTES: In the mid 1970s it seems the Cessna 180 G-ASIT was based here.

The airstrip used by Johnny Spiller (AJ a Kings Cup winner) was about a 1/4 mile west of the point shown, it was on the opposite side of the road to his farm, he was locally famous for taxying down the road to access the strip which ran north/south on the headland of the field. His second wife? Annie had been an ATA pilot, his family also established the strip at Keyston
