Military users: Royal Flying Corps - later Royal Air Force

77 [Home Defence] Sqdn    (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 and B.E.12 types)

 

Location: In/near the Middleton Hall area, about 1nm W of Tynehead, just N of the A7, about 11.5nm SE of Edinburgh city centre

Period of operation: 1917 to 1919

 

Site area: 114 acres 777 x 594
