Location: Just S of the B3098 and just E of Urchfont village. About 3.5nm SE of Devizes

Period of operation:  1980s (?) to -

Runway:   09/27   630   grass

NOTES:  My awareness of this airstrip came about after I took a picture whilst flying past in 2015, and, having no idea what it was called, and only a rough idea where it was located, I initially placed it in my article 'Where is this'. In June 2018 Mr David Day kindly advised me it was the strip at URCHFONT.

Being of course on top of my game, forever diligent and paying attention - I promptly then forgot about it. Coming across the entry once again in September 2020 I sprang into action to finish the entry off. Adding the Google Earth © pictures, location and runway details.

As always in this 'Guide' if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated. I am interested by the 'marked' area in the middle section of the runway in the 2018 picture as it is reminiscient of several model flying sites.

EXTRA NEWS
It appears, thanks to Mr Graham Frost who is a great friend of this 'Guide', that the SOCATA (Morane-Saulnier) MS.892A-150 Rallye Commodore, G-AZVI, was based here from 1981 until 1985.
