Verwood

Note: This map only gives my guess as to where this site might have been. This area has seem considerable development since WW2 so it could easily have been sited elsewhere. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.

VERWOOD: “Q” site decoy airfield

NOTES: Not strictly speaking within this remit, the “Q” site decoy airfields were a very important aspect of the WW2 flying campaign; so I therefore think well worth mentioning. It appears that a “Q” site ‘aerodrome’ was set up on ASHLEY HEATH near Verwood.
