A Guide to the history of British flying sites within the United Kingdom
get in touch

Warwick Road

Note: This map shows my guess as the roughly where this aerodrome may have been located. Close enough to provide a position within the UK for this 'Guide', but hardly satisfactory. If anybody can kindly provide a more exact location, or perhaps confirm that my guess is correct, this advice will be most welcome.

NOTE:   See BANBURY FLYING SITES for more information

WARWICK ROAD: Civil aerodrome

Location: Just NW of Banbury

Period of operation: 1932 certainly

NOTES: The itinerary of the 1932 Sir Alan Cobham’s National Aviation Day Display Tour of the UK gives as their venue, (26th April 1932), the ‘Warwick Road Airfield, Banbury’. Also, 9th May 1933 for Cobham's No.1 Tour.
