Wernllwyd Farm

Note: This map only gives the location of Welshpool town within the UK. Despite spending some time trying to track the exact location down, I have come up with nothing. However, judging from the amazing response to this 'Guide' so far, perhaps some kind person can provide a more exact location?

WERNLLWYD FARM: Temporary aerodrome?

Operated by: Sir Alan Cobham’s 1932 National Aviation Day UK Display Tour , Cobham’s 1933 No.2 Tour and Cobham’s 1935 No.2 Tour

Location: Newton Road, S of Welshpool

Period of operation: 7th June 1932, 31st May 1933 and 23rd September 1935

NOTES: This location appears suspiciously close to the site of the present day WELSHPOOL aerodrome, but that is on TREHILIG FARM.

There is of course no proof yet found that all these Tours, especially the 1933 No.2 Tour, visiting Welshpool, always used WERNLLWYD FARM. Perhaps somebody knows? If so their advice will be most welcome.
