         WEST AUCKLAND: Temporary Landing Ground?

NOTES: A picture exists of the Blackburn Improved Type 1 at West Auckland, Co Durham on July 11th, 1914 with Sidney Pickles in attendance. It was a two-seater constructed in 1913 for Dr M.G. Christie, a development of the single-seater built for Cyril Foggin, (apparently in the Shuttleworth Collection).
