WEST CLANDON: Temporary aerodrome (Aka SUSSEX FARM)

Operated by: Initially Alan Cobham’s 1933 No.2 Tour of the UK. Visited again in 1934 and 1935
Location: Reported as being Sussex Farm. The village of West Clandon is about 3nm NE of Guildford town centre. In 1934 the venue is given as Stoke Hill Estate, West Clandon. In 1935 however the venue address is Sussex Farm again.
Period of operation: 22nd & 23rd April 1933, 15th April 1934, 25th August 1935

This comment was written on: 2018-07-16 21:38:45I believe this farm with its temporary runway may have originally been part of the Lovelace Estate and then part of the Ockham Estate.

This comment was written on: 2020-05-27 18:43:23The Surrey Advertiser has a piece about the display at Sussex Farm on the given dates. But it says the entrance to the field is off the main Portsmouth Road,which can be seen on the Satellite display, and is 0.8 miles to the west of the farm.
