NOTES: Trying to determine where the Cobham tours displayed near Exeter is a major endeavour, and I am so glad that Mike Holder has agreed to help. I could not possibly spare the time with at least another 500 sites to add in 2020.

It now appears that the Sir Alan Cobham's National Aviation Day No.2 Tour displayed here on the 13th May 1933.

It also appears that on the 8th August 1934 the Cobham ‘Flying Circus' displayed here, about one mile NE of the WHIPTON HALT site used for the 1911 Daily Mail “Circuit of Britain” project. Looking back it seems so difficult to work out if HOME FARM, see PINHOE entry, and WEST CLYST PINHOE were the same site. Many years ago I would have assumed they must have been.

But, as is now known, they were indeed seperate sites. I can take no credit for solving this. Mike Holder, a true friend of this 'Guide' took it upon himself to clear the issue up - and it wasn't easy. Far from it, but eventually he succeeded. This 'Guide' owes so much to so generous people like Mike, who have very kindly offered help, advice and assistance.

West Clyst is just a group of farm buildings. The only entry I found for it was in the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette - 03 August 1934 for a Sir Alan Cobham's Flying Air Circus at West Clyst on 08 August 1934.
