NOTES: The initial information source about this strip was the AAIB report EW/G2008/07/34.

I had the pleasure of delivering the Gardan GY-20 Minicab G-AWEP here in July 2013. What a lovely private airstrip. Three other aircraft were based here, a Cessna 152, a Piper PA-28R Cherokee Arrow and a two-seater autogyro. Also on the site were the remains of the English Electric/BAC T.5 Lightning XS416 and a Panavia Tornado GR.1 ZA341, but it looked rather doubtful if they would be restored to ‘museum’ standard?

I am embarking on a tour of the British Isles visiting all remaining Lightnings and would very much like to view XS416 to add to my 'viewed' aircraft. I am in the area for a long weekend from Fri 19th May - Monday 22nd 2017. If this message is seen in time then a reply would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

I have tried to visit your strip many times but for some reason never managed it. Had I known about the GR1 would have tried a little harder. My C150 has gone but it had a home I am now researching a home for a plans built Zenair CH601HDS. Not yet but late next summer. I prefer flying at the grass roots but the aircraft has to be thoroughlyshaken down after a long build and a strip so close to home would be a real bonus. rEGARDS Gary A (Horncastle)
