Location: N of B6461, W of West Fishwick, about 6nm WSW of Berwick-upon- Tweed town centre

Period of operation: Military: 1942 to 1945        Civil: 1970s to 2000 certainly?

 

Runways: WW2: 06/24   1463x46   hard          12/30   1061x46   hard

1990: 06/24   900x46   hard            13/31   900x46   hard

2000: 06/24   800x46   hard            13/31   900x46   hard

 

NOTES: Originally owned and operated by Team Lotus, Jim Clark (racing driver) then acquired the Piper PA-30-160 Twin Comanche G-ASUT (ex N7303Y) and it appears based it here from 29.04.66 until 09.08.68. It then went to Denmark as OY-BKO.

The Borders Flying Group also based their Piper PA-22-160 G-ARAJ here. From 08.10.65 until 08.03.69.

In 1977 it seems two aircraft were based here: The Beagle A.61 Terrier 2, (G-AYDX), of T MacDonald & ptnrs and the Cessna FR.172J, G-BATI.

When Jim Clark (the racing car champion) was alive, he used to land his aircraft at Winfield
