WOLLATON PARK:   Temporary Landing Ground

In 1913 the Park was far more open, with far fewer trees.





 

Location:  Just N of the A52, about 3nm W of Nottingham City centre

Period of operation:  4th & 5th June 1913


NOTES:  A Flying Meeting was held here and one of the 'star-turn' attendees was B C Hucks in his 70hp Blériot. Already a famous aviator, he later became the first British pilot to perform a loop, which he demonstrated at HENDON (LONDON) in September 1913.
