Wollaton Park
WOLLATON PARK: Temporary Landing Ground
Note: This picture was obtained from Google Earth ©
In 1913 the Park was far more open, with far fewer trees.
Location: Just N of the A52, about 3nm W of Nottingham City centre
Period of operation: 4th & 5th June 1913
NOTES: A Flying Meeting was held here and one of the 'star-turn' attendees was B C Hucks in his 70hp Blériot. Already a famous aviator, he later became the first British pilot to perform a loop, which he demonstrated at HENDON (LONDON) in September 1913.
