Woolwich Wood

WOOLWICH WOOD:   Two intersecting private airstrips

Note:  Without any doubt known by another name locally, perhaps Broome Quarry House?

Location: Just S of the A2 and A260 junction, W of the A2 and E of the A260. About 7nm NW of Dover town centre

Period of operation: Unknown exactly, from about 2012 until around 2023? Possibly still used?

Runways:  15/33   435   grass        16/34   415   grass

NOTES:  We have Mr Karel Adams, a very good friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. It is very unusual to find a layout such as this, with two headings of runways so closely aligned but mostly spaced apart. Presumably for a very good reason, but what could that be?

I have no idea what type, or types, of aircraft use, or have used, this location.

If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated. Pictures are always welcome.
