WYNNSTAY HALL: WW2 military airstrip?

NOTES: During WW2 (1939 to 1945) WYNNSTAY HALL was occupied by the Royal Engineers and in particular the School of Military Survey who produced a considerable amount of maps and other similar material, including the results of aerial surveys.

I have found no concrete evidence of aircraft, especially those used for communications duties, using this site - but this is not at all unusual at other similar sites around the UK. In fact, it would be most unlikely, especially given the fairly remote location, especially during the run-up to D-Day for example, if aircraft were not used to carry urgently required maps and so on.

Also, the operation of aircraft in this capacity would not have been of any note - as commonplace as 'runners' on motorbikes I suspect.
