Arpley Meadows

Location: E of the Chester Road, just S of Warrington town centre
Period of operation: 1919 possibly until 1939?
A MICHAEL T HOLDER GALLERY
My note: This first picture shows the Avro 504K, serial F8784. This was built at the Parnall factory east of Bristol in WW1. What is of interest to us today, is that although the civil aircraft register had been opened in around April 1919, many operators still retained the military markings for some time afterwards. This being a good example, owned and operated by Golden Eagle Aviation based in Blackpool.
The newspaper report is from the St Helens Examiner, published on the 20th September 1919. Telling us about the 'Warrington Flying Week', in celebration of the aerodrome opening. After this event, the trail seems to go cold. I cannot find any other mention of this licensed aerodrome being used until Sir Alan Cobham arrived on the 24th June 1929, to promote his Municipal Aerodrome Campaign. Hopefully somebody can kindly offer advice?
Note: The newspaper announcement of Cobham's visit was published in the Liverpool Echo on the 17th May 1929. The newspaper article was published in the Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer, on the 25th June 1929.
NOTES: As can be seen, it appears that very little is known about the history of this location. As said above, if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
