Austerson Farm

AUSTERSON FARM: Private airstrip, later planned to be the first UK Airpark?

Note:  Both of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: (Airstrip only) Mr Geoff Farr

Location: Near and SSW of Nantwich town centre

Period of operation: From the 1970s at least (?) to c.2005

Runway:  2005 -      09/27   590   grass

NOTES: A news report in the October 2005 edition of Popular Flying magazine stated that planning permission to develop disused farm buildings into five luxury homes, with hangars, had been approved. After twenty five years of using the strip Mr Farr had obtained a Certificate of Lawful Use for the landing strip so suggested the Airpark idea to the owners of the farm wanting to develop the site. But - did this progress?

The 2005 picture above is the last I could find showing the airstrip - so presumably the project failed.
