Dering Farm

DERING FARM: Military aerodrome (also known as LYDD)

Military users: RFC/RAF Used by aeroplanes co-operating with the guns on Hythe ranges 1917 to 1919

Night Landing Ground for 112 (Home Defence) Sqdn 1917 to 1918

Note: 112 Sqdn, formed at THROWLEY in KENT,  were initially supplied with Sopwith Pups, but Sopwith Camels came along in 1918. So perhaps both types were seen flying here?

Period of operation: 1917 to 1919

Site area: 60 acres     549 x 549
