EASTON on the HILL: Military aerodrome

Military users: RFC/RAF  (Royal Flying Corps / Royal Air Force)

No.5 Training Depot Station
 

Location: Easton-on-the-Hill village is just W of the A43 roughly 2nm SW of Stamford. The site is now part of the western end of RAF WITTERING

Period of operation: 1917 to 1919
 

Site area: 288 acres     1006 x 1006
 

NOTES: It appears that EASTON on the HILL was renamed RAF COLLYWESTON in 1918. Both sites were later incorporated in RAF WITTERING as that site expanded.
