EMPINGHAM: Private airstrip
NOTES: When Jackie Morecroft flew the J-3 Cub G-BDEY into the 2004 PFA Rally the departure airfield was given as EMPINGHAM. Was this actually SHACKLEWELL LODGE or another nearby strip?
As is well known, it is not uncommon to have, in England at least, two or more private airstrips in close proximity to each other. And, a look at Google Earth shows a multitude of nearby suitable sites for operating a Piper Cub. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.

This comment was written on: 2021-02-20 00:32:18G-BDEY used to live on a private farm strip to the north east of Empingham village. It was the only aeroplane there. Since the aircraft was sold and moved, the runway has been returned to agriculture. I was lucky enough to be taken for a few flights in G-BDEY, a lovely old aeroplane.
