Location: Just E and parallel to the A.24 about 1nm ENE of Southwater, about 0.5nm SE of Southwater Street

Just SW of the much longer established JACKRELL'S FARM airstrip

Period of operation:  1990s (?) to  2013/14

Runway: 17/35    650  grass

Note: Circa 2013 a 01/19 runway was added, 535 metres long

NOTES: It is of course not at all necessary to record accurate details of any private airstrips for the purposes of this 'Guide' and SUSSEX has them in abundance. The main purpose being just to record their existence and hope to celebrate this hugely important aspect of British aviation history which really does, as with our WW1 and WW2 flying history, set us uniquely apart from any other nation. When compared with, for example, per square mile and population in any other country around the world.

This said, since around the turn of the 21st century, the existence of Google Earth has been a major boon to aviation historians, as the pictures above clearly show.
