NOTES:  I have Mr Graham Frost for kindly pointing this site out. I have to say that my first reaction to this news was highly sceptical - was dear Graham, such a good friend of this 'Guide' now on the whacky-bachy? But no - there it was.

Clearly I thought, such a rarity as a private strip with a hard runway, (and not part of an old WW2 airfield either), would be well documented. But not at all - I can find no information. If anybody can kindly offer advice this will be much appreciated.

In May 2022 I was kindly contacted by Mr. Sam Kenward who has looked into this. He reports that the strip was owned and operated by Mr Peter Cadbury of Westward Television, (and the chocolate family). It appears that the strip was laid out between 1977 and 1982 and Cadbury then owned the nearby Lyneham Estate. It seems appears that accounts vary as to whether or not Cadbury actually used the strip. Some say he did but ceased to do so after the Lyneham Estate was sold.
