Glan-y-Mor-Isaf

GLAN-Y-MÔR-ISAF: Military aerodrome    (possibly also known as BANGOR/ABER?)

Military users: RAF ‘Special Duties Station’

244 Sqdn   (Airco DH6s)

521, 522 & 530 SDF    (Airco DH6s)

Location: On Glan-y-Môr-Isaf farm, 1nm E of Penrhyn Castle

Period of operation: May 1918 to ?

Runways: Presumably an ‘all-over’ type grass airfield. The total area of the airfield is given as being occupying 50 acres.

NOTES: Airco DH.6 types operated from here. Although it might appear sensible to assume this site and ABER are the same ,experience has taught me to be very wary of leaping to conclusions.
