Hintlesham

Note: This map only gives the position of Hintlesham village within the UK.

HINTLESHAM: Private airstrip

Location: In/near Hintlesham on the A1071, about 3nm E of Hadleigh

Period of operation: 1930s only?

NOTES: A photograph I have seen seems to prove existence of this airstrip. Could it possibly have been located in nearby Hintlesham Hall?

There also seems to be some evidence of a WW1 Landing Ground in this vicinity. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
