Note:   Both of these pictures are from my Google Earth © derived database.

Operated by:  Mr A H Green

Location:  About 1nm SW of Writtle, roughly 3nm SW of Chelmsford

Period of operation:  Unknown?  Perhaps 1960s only?

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for information regarding this location. It is of great interest, to me at least, to find that two flying sites, seperated by some forty to fifty years, existed in pretty much the same location. But, known it would seem, by entirely different names: LEE FARM and EDNEY COMMON. The latter only existing for a brief period too.

Mr A H Green had the Druine D.31 Turbulent, G-ARCZ, registered to his LEE FARM address from 31.03.66 until 19.05.69. As information exists, from the 1960s, describing the location of this airstrip, presumably he had it based here? To date, no exact information has been found detailing the postion, length and orientation of the strip.

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated. I wonder if any pictures exist?
